Provenance Research Post Available


The Commission for Looted Art in Europe seeks a motivated and experienced art historian as a full-time provenance researcher in London: February 2012

The successful candidate will become a key member of our specialist team, and provide research support and guidance for our archival researchers and art historians. As part of the team, you will be involved in international research projects to assist in documenting, identifying and tracing works of art that were seized in the 1933-1945 Nazi era.

 

A competitive applicant will preferably be fluent in German, have an MA or PhD, strong art historical knowledge and background, and proven archival and provenance research experience. You will have at least two years relevant work experience in a museum, art gallery, auction house, etc. Exceptional research and organisational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail and computer literacy are all essential. Knowledge of one or more other European languages, art looting operations and relevant research resources are desirable.
